Italian designer, director, and photographer based in Manhattan Beach, California.
For over twenty years, as founder and creative director of METAphrenie, I've built a career constructing images that capture the spirit of place – broadcast identities, title sequences, and brand films for international entertainment and sports brands. Motion graphics taught me to think in atmosphere: how light, scale, and composition can establish mood before a single word is spoken.
Photography is the still counterpart to that practice.
Where motion work unfolds over time, a photograph has to contain everything in one frame – the drama, the air, the magnitude of being somewhere. My images tend toward the cinematic because I'm always searching for the same thing: how to make a viewer feel the weight of a landscape, the particular quality of light at a specific hour, the silence of a place.
The Southwest. The Pacific. Winter light. These are the environments I return to – not to document, but to distill.
